Today I'm not sharing a long post with a deep reflection or an interesting story. Instead, I'll just be sharing some photos from my week so far and simply writing down the random thoughts that pop into my head. Because yes, sometimes writing down what we think or feel is extremely necessary and important. So, let me tell you, yesterday while I was waiting for public transportation, I was thinking about how difficult it can be to get back into a routine, sometimes even harder than starting one from scratch... or at least that's something I've noticed in myself. I was thinking about this because I've never found it so hard to say goodbye to my vacation. Right now, it's really difficult; it feels like I weigh a ton, like I'm trying to lift a weight much heavier than I can actually handle. It's strange because around this time last year, I didn't feel like this. I had much more energy, even though I didn't have the same motivation I have at the beginning of the year.

I'd been thinking about a few things to make this "little problem" of getting back into a routine more manageable, and I came to an important conclusion: it's important to avoid the all-or-nothing bias. In other words, not falling into the mental trap of thinking that to get back into a routine, I have to return to the exact same level of intensity where I left off. So I'll just take it one step at a time, without overdoing it, and to prevent my mind from completely collapsing and hating going back, I decided to do something other than working out after work—you know, like a kind of reward to anchor me to the things I enjoy. On my first day back at work, a friend gave me a slice of cake and flan, which was basically perfect for romanticizing the situation. So when I got home, with all the calm in the world, I sat down to enjoy the dessert while reading a few pages of the book I'm reading this month. This was like my reward to congratulate myself for surviving my first day back at work after the holidays.
