Artificial intelligence is everywhere today. You will find it in the health sector, in businesses, and even in politics. But today, I'm focusing on education. Yes, artificial intelligence cns now be seen in the educational sector too and the students make use of it a lot.
Today, a lot of students make use of it to solve problems, guide them on the step-by-step process of getting an answer to a ln equation and all, I as well make use of it, I won't deny that. Because in all honesty it has made learning easier. We should just not allow it to cross the line because it is a tool and it should remain one.
And one of the things I like about AI is how you can prompt it to do things the way you want. There are times I don't understand some topics we are being taught in class and I go home to ask AI to break it down for me in very simple terms to make me understand. And most of the time, I understand such topic very well.
Also, I like how fast it is. Ai is very fast, and that's way it helps saves time. Back then, you'd have to visit the library and get different materials together just so to be able to answer a question or answer a seminar topic, but today within seconds you have all the materials you need at a place on your screen.
But then, a whole lot of student are today relying on AI for everything. Like, even problems that are simple or some that they could even try to do for themselves, they would rather take it to AI to help with it. And it worries me as I doubt if they know they are actually harming themselves. Learning is us developing the ability to think, solve problems and such, but when we've given it all to artificial intelligence to do, how can we now say we are really learning.
Like I said earlier, it is a tool and we should try to be careful of it's usage. AI shouldn't do all of the thinkings for us, AI shouldn't solve all of the problems for us. Because at the moment and of the day you will need to defend your results, go for an interview or do something and AI wouldn't be there to answer, assist, or help you.
Even if you're the type who's being careful of using it you will know that artificial intelligence can be wrong at times too. It is not perfect and so it makes mistakes as well. To me, it is just like a partner, I try to think and understand whatever it brings for me before making use of it, most of the time I even take my time to research more and compare it with other materials. That's what you will see it apologizing to you at times when you see it has made a mistake or is wrong about a thing, but most student aren't like that, they have made it their all in all, and anything it brings of them goes.
I feel artificial intelligence is here and it is here to stay. It is a powerful tool, so, it's best for us to just know how to make the best use of it, else it will replace us and we begin to lose our creativity and our brains start going dormant.
