Well, I have very little to say about this...
First off, good afternoon y'all.
Now, talking about celebrating women and all of that, I would want to say it's a bit performative to some extent and the contradictions ain't one to be ignored...In the sense that, this is the same society where women keep, get bullied, harassed, graped, limited to the kitchen, and experience various form of violence
Also, I won't say that the celebration is meaningless, no, it is not. To some extent as well, there's been some changes, changes that cannot as well be ignored, talk of conversations about equality, talk of women taking up spaces and positions once occupied mostly by men, talk of the girl child education, talk of the respect now given to them and all of that. So a lot is happening and change is taking place.
I can say the celebration look like a show or performative, but like I said earlier, it is to some extent, because that same celebration had helped cleared the air about a lot of things and has as well allow our females to dream beyond while also opening them up to various opportunities and all.....
