This is a very simple yet deep topic to address this week. Talking of what drives me to help, I believe it is is different for everyone of us. But on my own part, what actually drives me to help is that I know what it feels like to being need o help and receive the help.

I know it very very well. Few years ago, the course of my life changed and I experienced pains, delays and all, due to illness. A lot of things happened back then. A whole lot of things that I can't even start saying, is it the debts my parents got into, or the properties they had to sell, name it. But then, I'm goad I received help form people at such a time. Some gave us money, some encouraged us, some prayed for us, some showed up and all, in short I and my family were never made to feel like we are alone in it all. People really tried their best, even strangers.

And even though I do help before all of that, I've even been more serious about it now. Because the experience I had is one that stays and will continue to stay with me. I don't give because I have it all, I don't wen have or own anything. But then, I give because I always remember those days I was down too. Those who helped me then could have used their money and all on a different thing, but they chose to help out. So, I see no reason why I shouldn't do same too. And it is not always about money, sometimes it's just being available for someone, other times it's just giving advice, sometimes it can just be a listening ear.

I often help anonymously too, in way that I allow people to speak up and seek for advice and all on my WhatsApp platform, even though I had to put it on a pause later last year or early this year I think. So busy with alot of things and I really hope I can get it back again. Also, I do the little I can in my environment too, even though it is mostly for kids. I any not always have money and properties to give, but when I have time, advise, encouraging words, care, compassion and such... I give it.

I know the kind of person I am, and I know the kid if person I really want to be, and helping the little way I could even without having anything keeps me going and working towards my goal/dream. A lot of people we see smiling are facing real life issues and nobody knows a lot of people as re bottling up things inside of them and nobody sees them or seems to even notice, but if I can get to at least solve a problem for a person, or let someone know they can always talk to me and voice out their struggles and pains without being judged... Then I think I have added something good to the society. This actually reminds me of the ongoing sam.hangout@sam.hangout topic we are discussing this week, I will encourage y'all to go check it out here and engage.

So, that is what drives me to help. Gratitude. I am here today, writing and sharing my story because someone, somewhere, at a time helped me. So, helping others in need is my way of honoring all of those sacrifices. There's a saying that goes, "we rise by lifting others." Yea, life becomes more easier and meaningful when we help others to rise above their problems and challenges.
