Greetings everyone, and welcome to my blog. It is another wonderful opportunity to listen to the word of God through His servant, Bro. Eli Soriano.
First of all, I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that Jesus Christ preached the gospel over two thousand years ago, and His teachings were carefully recorded in the Bible. These records include not only His words, but also the situations in which He spoke, the people He addressed, and the circumstances surrounding His teachings.
In the book of Matthew, while speaking to His disciples, Jesus said: “Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you” (Matthew 5:42, KJV).
This instruction does not apply only to those who have previously lent us money. It also applies to the sick, the poor, and anyone who is in need of help. The teaching of Jesus emphasizes generosity toward those who ask. This obligation may be physical, social, or practical in nature. Even though we may not have a legal or financial duty to help the poor or needy, we are bound by Christ’s command to care for them. We are called to give to those in need and to lend to those who ask, and this responsibility extends even to our enemies.
Luke 6:35 says: “Love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because He is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.”
According to the teachings of Jesus Christ in the New Testament, failing to practice this kind of love shows a lack of true devotion to God. As written in 1 John 3:17: “Whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how can God’s love dwell in him?”
