Since crafts are one of them, and crochet is one of them, I'm taking the plunge and showing you my finished piece.
Giving you a little history and explaining why I chose this bird, I'll tell you that when I was little, my pets were chicks. I lived in a rural area, and in that country house, my father had a prolific brood of chickens.
When chickens are left with just one chick, they often reject it. I would take them in and raise them "titi," as this type of adoption is popularly called in the Cuban countryside.
When I took out a chicken, I would spend hours watching how cute the newborn chicks usually are.
So, in tribute to my "Titis," I made this piece, and I'll try to describe the process below.
MATERIALS AND TOOLS
_ Materials
_ Thick yarn threads for making eggs and chickens
_ Thick cotton thread for the basket
_ Two black beads for the eyes
_ A small piece of light orange foam for the beak
Tools
_ 8.88 mm ergonomic crochet hook
_ Four cardboard circles, two smaller for the head and two slightly larger for the body
_ Scissors
_ Hot glue gun and stick
I want to clarify that I create my own designs; I don't work with tutorials. When I have a specific piece commissioned, I create it by looking at the photo provided by the client.
I've tried to follow some tutorials and get lost halfway through.
That's why I didn't keep trying even though I solved it visually satisfactorily.
The order in which I should weave is required, as the project progresses.
_The basket to place the other pieces
_The six unshelled eggs
_The two halves of the eggshell where I'll place the chick
_The pom-poms that will be the chick's head and body
_The eyes glued with hot glue
_The beak, following a similar procedure to the previous one.
Once my work is finished, before showing it to others, I enjoy it as a creator.
That's why I took my basket to my backyard where I have my little green universe, placed it on the grass, and heard the chirping of all my chicks again.
Because my pieces are unique, it's sometimes hard for me to let go of them.
I love, most of all, the tenderness of their little faces.

Haciendo un poco de historia y el por qu茅 elijo esta ave, les cuento que de peque帽a, mis mascotas fueron pollitos, viv铆a en una zona rural y en esa casa de campo, mi pap谩 ten铆a una prol铆fera cr铆a de gallinas.
Cuando las gallinas se quedan con un solo pollo , muchas veces lo rechazan, ah铆 yo los acog铆a y los criaba "a titi" como se dice popularmente a este tipo de adopci贸n en el campo cubano.
Cuando sacaba una gallina, pasaba horas mirando lo gracioso que suelen ser los pollitos reci茅n nacidos.
Por eso en homenaje a mis "Titis" confeccion茅 est谩 obra que, a continuaci贸n tratar茅 de describir el proceso.
MATERIALES Y HERRAMIENTAS
_ Materiales
_ Hilos de estambre gruesos para confecci贸n de huevos y pollo
_Hilo de algod贸n grueso para la cesta.
_Dos cuentas negras para los ojos
_ Un peque帽o pedacito de foami naranja claro para el pico.
Herramientas
_Aguja ergon贸mic谩 para crochet de 8.88 mm
_ Cuatro c铆rculos de cart贸n dos m谩s peque帽os para la cabeza y dos un tanto m谩s grandes para el cuerpo.
_Una tijera.
_Pistola y barra de silicona caliente.
Quiero aclarar que soy creadora de mis propios dise帽os,no trabajo con tutoriales.cuando tengo alg煤n encargo de una pieza espec铆ficamente, la hago observando la foto que me facilite el cliente
He intentado seguir alg煤n tutorial y me pierdo a mitad del trabajo.
Por eso no lo segui intentando si visualmente lo resuelvo satisfactoriamente.
El orden en que debo tejer me lo obliga, seg煤n avanza la confecci贸n del trabajo.
_La cesta para ir colocando las otras piezas
_Los seis huevos sin casquear.
_Las dos mitades de cascar贸n d贸nde pondr茅 el pollito.
_Los pompones que ser谩n la cabeza y el cuerpo del pollo.
_Los ojitos pegados con silicona caliente.
_ El pico con proceder similar al anterior.
Una vez que termin贸 mi trabajo, antes de mostrarlo a otro , lo disfruto como creadora.
Por eso llev茅 mi cesta a mi patio trasero donde tengo mi peque帽o universo verde, coloqu茅 la cesta en el cesped y volv铆 a sentir el piar de todos mis pollitos.
C贸mo mis piezas son 煤nicas, me cuesta a veces desprenderme de ellas.
Amo, principalmente, la ternura de sus caritas.
