I love reading and writing poetry. I am particularly fond of sonnets and their traditional iambic rhythm (iambic pentameter: ta-TA, ta-TA, ta-TA, ta-TA, ta-TA) because of its musicality.
The modesty of sonnets is remarkable; they deliver clear messages in the disguise of musical verses. These encapsulate arguments that make us feel like reciting our thoughts aloud--always that we read them aloud--will, hopefully, make us connect with the poet's feeling and central idea (if the poet is lucky enough).

A rose alone, enough to cast a spell
I speak its form and see but blushes red
like scarlet ibises in aquarelle,
like fragrant cherries have their colors bled.
Like tinted words these lines will ever say
and painted clouds in fancy afternoons,
this rose of mine is reddest as it may,
and may words keep it safe through countless moons.
Give me your verses and a rose within
that has the hues of snow, or gold or pink
and will I turn their lively shapes akin
into these mystic wells of garnet ink.
True, our emotions may go back to black,
yet red should stay the passions we held back.
