A street view in Lahti. The west end of Harjukatu. The stadium and the ski jumps, which are used in the summer, too, are visible in the background.
The other way. Town hall on the hill. The flag is flown because it is the Defense Force's Day today. Marshall C.G.E Mannerheim who had several important roles on several occasions after Finland's gaining independence from the Russian Empire in 1917 until his retirement in 1946 was born on June 4 1867.
The largest ski jumping hill. Unfortunately, it is not open to the public now as it normally is as a viewing tower.
There's a public swim pool open in the summer. When it is closed in mid-August the ski jumpers get to use the largest hill, too.
These juniors were using the smallest of the hills. I didn't quite catch the last of today's jumps.
I also happened to drive past the burnt down storage hall that I blogged about the other day.
The hall was used to store waste materials. It was full of plastics and wood when it burned. The fire had spread out into the woods nearby but the fire department was able to contain it.
