Existen varias adaptaciones en el cine de la historia de Carrie White, para mí es la única película que he visto, esta versión publicada en el año 2013 con una duración de aproximadamente 92 minutos, protagonizada por Chloë Grace Moretz, nos muestra la realidad de una joven tímida y dañada por los maltratos de su madre religiosa terminando en una trágica historia.

There are several film adaptations of the story of Carrie White; this version, released in 2013 and running for approximately 92 minutes—starring Chloë Grace Moretz—is the only one I have seen. It depicts the reality of a shy young woman, deeply scarred by the mistreatment she suffered at the hands of her religious mother, in a story that culminates in tragedy.

Carrie es una joven estudiante muy tímida y de pocos amigos, realmente en la mayoría de las películas de adolescentes hay un grupo de jóvenes que quieren destacar e incluso son capaces de realizar daño a los demás solo por diversión, este es el caso de la protagonista, al no encajar en su mundo su vida se vuelve más difícil debido a las burlas constantes de los demás, llamándola "rara" por no ligarse a ellos.

Carrie is a very shy young student with few friends. In many teen movies, there is a group of young people who crave attention—to the point of harming others just for the sake of amusement—and this is the situation the protagonist faces; because she does not fit into her world, her life becomes increasingly difficult due to the constant mockery of others, who label her a "freak" for not conforming to their ways.

Esta película no me generó miedo pero si la satisfacción de que Carrie se haya vengado de todos los que le hicieron daño, incluso su madre debido a su fanatismo religioso quería separarla del mundo que la rodea, fué uno de los principales factores del miedo de Carrie y de su aislamiento, pero hay algo que llama la atención a pesar de que en el mundo real las personas no andan por todas partes con poderes como ella, el que si existe es el bullying.

This film didn’t scare me, but it did provide the satisfaction of seeing Carrie take revenge on everyone who had hurt her—including her mother, whose religious fanaticism led her to try to isolate Carrie from the world around her. This was a major source of Carrie’s fear and isolation. Yet, there is something worth noting: while people in the real world don’t go around possessing powers like hers, bullying is very much a reality.

Carrie sufrió tanto que sus compañeros llegaron a herir sus sentimientos, su autoestima, y cuando ya por fin se siente bien por un momento ocurre algo inesperado, la verdad me gustó mucho la película no tengo nada malo que decir, quizás hayan escenas sobre pasadas de la realidad pero igual me gustaron.

Carrie suffered so much—her peers even went as far as to hurt her feelings and damage her self-esteem—and just when she finally feels good for a moment, something unexpected happens. Honestly, I really liked the movie; I have nothing bad to say about it. There may be some scenes that go beyond what’s realistic, but I enjoyed them nonetheless.

Así que además de disfrutar de esta película también podemos tomar un aprendizaje y es que nadie debería sufrir un acoso de tal manera, debe haber respeto y empatía, nunca normalizar las humillaciones, en algún momento podría ver la nueva serie que salió reciente sobre Carrie.

So, beyond just enjoying this film, we can also take away a lesson: no one should ever have to endure such harassment. There must be respect and empathy—humiliation should never be normalized. At some point, I might check out the new series about Carrie that was recently released.
