In this detached house dating back to the end of the 40's, the first step was to open the rear facade on the garden thanks to a sliding bay 7.4m long. Released from intermediate carrier element, this intervention aims to cancel the limits with the outdoor terrace. A wire mesh framing this wide opening filters the heat input into the kitchen and the dining room, gathered in the same open space on the garden.
Inside, the transformation of this house decomposes space by developing a dynamic visual link between each living area. By playing with the uneven levels and the expression of blocks with contrasting tones containing storage and service, the concept removes the notion of wall and reinforces the feeling of a home made of a single volume. Mobile, laser perforated steel wall of an abstract pattern modulates the intimacy between the living room and the double height family room.
Suspended above this family room, a plant wall is the main element of the interior atmosphere. Upstairs, the open-plan office takes advantage of this plant presence.
