La doble vida de Esmeralda [Esp-Eng]

Esmeralda era una joven muy educada, de pocos amigos, introvertida a tal punto que le costaba relacionarse con su entorno. Era misteriosa, se podría catalogar así. Su infancia no fue muy agradable. Vivía con su madre, sus dos hermanos y su padre. Porfirio se llamaba su padre un hombre gruñón, mal humorado, pendenciero, consumía alcohol y en ocasiones se drogaba, le gustaba jugar hasta perder el último centavo, le daba mala vida a su madre y en consecuencia ella sufría al igual que sus hermanos.

En ocasiones cuando llegaba drogado y excedido del alcohol trataba de abusar de Esmeralda. Ella lloraba y no tenia a quien contarle lo que le pasaba. En una oportunidad se lo dijo a su madre y ella lo que hizo fue regañarla y le ordenó que no repitiera lo que decía. Su madre era también victima de los abusos de su esposo. Prefería callar que a denunciarlo, porque Porfirio la amenazaba con matarla a ella y a sus hijos. Así llevó esa vida junto a sus hijos por más de veinte años.

Hasta que llego la mala, terrible y liberadora noticia que a Porfirio lo habían asesinado en un bar por no querer saldar una deuda de dinero. Fueron momentos muy duros para la familia. En su interior la señora Adelaida sentía una paz interior porque sentía que se había liberado del yugo, abuso, maltrato de su esposo Porfirio. Pasaron muchas carencias pero poco a poco se fue mejorando la situación económica. Esmeralda permanecía callada y en las noches salia de casa y su madre no se daba cuenta de sus salidas nocturnas.

En el día Esmeralda era una joven, sumisa, introvertida, de pocos amigos. Y en la noche se convertía en una mujer de fuego, trabajaba en un centro nocturno, prestaba servicios como dama de compañía a cualquier hombre que solicitara sus servicios. Se convertía en una mujer extrovertida y cambiaba su nombre hacia llamarse Raquel. Trabajaba toda la noche, regresaba a casa en la madrugada, su madre no notaba su ausencia. Tenía en su casa un closet bajo llave donde tenia los más hermosos vestidos que lucia en la noche. Ella no entendía que le pasaba. Pasó alrededor de tres años llevando esa doble vida.

En ocasiones lloraba a solas y no entendía, lo que le pasaba. No recordaba porque tenía mucho dinero, de donde provenía, como lo obtuvo. Y esa ropa en su closet bajo llave que celosamente cuidaba. No lograba entender porque actuaba de esa manera. Todas las noches lucia su mejor atuendo, le encantaba cuando se transformaba en Raquel lucir vestidos de colores fuerte, que la resaltaran al igual que el maquillaje que llevaba. Deslumbrante y despampanante lucia cada noche.

Esmeralda llevaba doble vida. Su madre cuidadosamente había descubierto que algo andaba mal con su hija. Y comenzó a indagar hasta que la siguió al centro nocturno que pernoctaba todas las noches. Le costaba creer que esa era su hija. Contrató a un fotógrafo para que le tomara varias fotografías y así poder conversar con su hija. Decidió esperarla esa madrugaba cuando regresaba a casa. Y la sorprendió justo en en momento en que hacía cambio de ropa y limpiaba su rostro del maquillaje que llevaba. El rostro de Raquel fue cambiando de forma paulatina hasta volverse una mujer sumisa adoptando la personalidad de Esmeralda, una mujer callada, tranquila, introvertida, etc.

Su madre la abrazo fuertemente y dialogaron por primera vez como amigas. Su madre Recordó todo el daño que le había hecho su padre, y que ella era la culpable de todo lo que estaba pasando. Conversaron sobre la conducta y cambio de personalidad que ella había adoptado a raíz de la muerte de su padre. Esmeralda le explicaba a su madre como al comenzar la noche esa personalidad de Raquel se iba apoderando de su cuerpo. Lograron contactar al mejor psiquiatra de la ciudad para que estudiara su caso. Esmeralda sufría de trastorno de identidad disociativo. adoptó esa personalidad para olvidarse de los malos recuerdos que sufrió durante años junto a su padre. A medida que comenzó asistir a las terapias indicadas por el psiquiatra paulatinamente Raquel empezó abandonar su cuerpo y en ocasiones aparecia. Ella pudo detectar los factores que desencadenaron ese comportamiento cambiando su personalidad y adoptando otra. Esmeralda su madre y sus hermanos llevaron una vida llena de mucho amor y armonía. Raquel no volvió aparecer en la vida de Esmeralda.

She preferred to remain silent than to denounce him, because Porfirio threatened to kill her and her children. This is how she lived with her children for more than twenty years.

Until the bad, terrible and liberating news came that Porfirio had been murdered in a bar for not wanting to pay off a debt of money. Those were very hard moments for the family. Mrs. Adelaida felt an inner peace because she felt that she had been freed from the yoke, abuse and mistreatment of her husband Porfirio. There were many hardships but little by little the economic situation improved. Esmeralda remained quiet and at night she left the house and her mother did not notice her nightly departures.

She spent about three years leading this double life.
