The deadly situation - no kidding. We were there last week when a crazy storm hit San Diego and people got swept away in their cars, their houses were filled with water and some had to climb on the roof and wait to be rescued.
The long-term impact is pretty deadly, too. Many cars got swept up in the sudden rivers that used to be streets.
Once a car is submerged all the precious and mostly deadly juices that make automobiles do what they do, now gets mixed with the water, sinks into the soil, will either reach the ocean or the ground water. Yikes.
Well, I spend that day knee deep in water clearing the drainage to allow the water to run through. The yard was completely flooded - but we were the lucky ones.
No water in the house. We didn’t have to rip up the floors and rip out the walls to try to dry everything before black mold makes the flooded home their home.
I only got wet and tired. Not so bad.
Today, I spend the day making sure that there is nothing in the way of the water we expect to come from the sky tomorrow. A 100% chance of rain. And in one of those hours, we are supposed to get an inch of downpour.
Happy days. Or should I say wet days…
