One of the facets of leadership is the ability to delegate responsibilities to those potential disciples. Unfortunately, there are many leaders who make mistakes when delegating, and as a result, there is no reproduction of leaders.

Delegating is an art, where we must learn to trust others. Sometimes, we think that nobody can do the job better than us, but it is necessary to delegate and trust our disciples, even knowing in advance, that they will make mistakes, because this is part of the process.

"25 Moses chose men of virtue from among all Israel, and made them leaders over the people, over a thousand, over a hundred, over fifty, and over ten. 26And they judged the people at all times; the difficult matter they brought to Moses, and they judged every small matter. "Exodus 18.25, 26

Delegating is an art, where we must learn to trust others.

What are we going to delegate?

Authority: legal right delegated to exercise dominion, backed by a power. It is the legal right to act on behalf of another person, a company, ministry or organization. The authority must be given in private and, also, in public, so that other people recognize and submit. All delegated authority is based on submission.
Responsibility: Delegated authority implies responsibility, that is, the person has a job to do, and must commit to finish it.

It is important:

Delegate according to the disposition and capacity of the person.
Delegate according to the gift or passion of the person, place it in the correct position. God gave the gifts according to the passion and talent of each person.

What did Jesus do when he delegated authority to his disciples?

He gave specific instructions: The how, the when, the what, the where, the why of the work. This avoids future problems.
"5And these twelve sent Jesus, and gave them instruction, saying, Go not in the way of the Gentiles, and into the city of the Samaritans enter ye not, but go before the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And going, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8Sanad the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons; of grace you have received, freely give. "Matthew 10.5-8

Some biblical principles that the disciple should know:

Give accounts: Every good disciple, after being delegated authority and responsibility, must report and give accounts of their work.
"17The seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name." Luke 10.17

Responsibility and authority are delegated: This means that they should not be abused. His authority is based on submission and a healthy relationship with the leader. If the disciple rebels against his leader, he loses authority. Rebellion should not be allowed under any circumstance in the organization.
The primary commitment of the disciple is to serve in order to alleviate the burden on the leader: The authority that the disciple receives is to serve the people and not to satisfy their own interests.
"17 ... And they will carry with you the burden of the people, and you will not carry it alone." Numbers 11.17

After God, fidelity and loyalty are due to the leader: Loyalty is important in the company, in the church, outside the church, in the home, among others.
Maintain a teachable heart and willing to discipline: When he is wrong, the disciple must know how to accept correction.
