Have you ever been told that because you are a woman you belong to the "weaker sex"? Some women resent being considered in this way and try to display rudeness so that they do not pigeonhole them through that stereotype. Others, however, take advantage of it to become dependent and avoid their personal responsibilities. Of course the two tendencies are incorrect and are located in extremes that can be dangerous, not only for women but also for those who live and relate to it habitually.

What is the quintessential meaning of true femininity? It is this: True femininity is a unique call from God to unfold the glory of His Son in ways that would not be manifested unless femininity existed.

When God described the glorious work of His Son as the sacrifice of a husband by his wife, He was telling us why He made us male and female. He made us this way so that masculinity and femininity would more fully unfold the glory of His Son in relation to His Bride bought with blood. This means that if you try to reduce your femininity to physical characteristics or biological functions and then determine your role in life purely on the basis of competencies, you not only lose the point of femininity, but you diminish the glory of Christ in your own life.

God, creator of man and woman, was not wrong or partial when he gave us the characteristics of each sex. The differences and similarities that exist between men and women are not intended to indicate the superiority of one to the detriment of the other. By reflecting on the act of the creation of man and woman, we can perceive a loving God who made us both, women and men, in his image and likeness (Gen. 1:27). Therefore, we are complementary beings and endowed with the ability to live together in this life and for eternity.

There are attacks coming from all sides towards our femininity. At the same time, we are living on days when there are no fixed patterns to follow. We have reached the age of majority in revolutionary times when women are making more decisions than ever before. Unlike our mother and grandmothers, we are buying our own homes, targeting corporations and working in cancer cures. We are preparing dinner, calming the crying baby and having a teleconference with one board of directors at a time. We are wearing helmets and work gloves so often that tool companies are designing tools specifically for women. In many ways, this is a fabulous time to be a woman. But it is also a complicated time. In fact, without God's direction, it can become completely confusing.

The strength of the woman does not lie in her muscles. Neither does it make us strong to have authority, let alone acquire power by placing us in conflict with men trying to prove that we are superior. We are simply women, created according to the will of God, with weaknesses and great strengths as well as men. Do not repress or deny the feminine that is in us. We do not try to give an image that compensates an incorrect criterion.

Years ago they reminded me when I read the book Love Has a Price Tag, by Elisabeth Elliot. In it, she shared that she once gave her college students the unusual task of defining femininity in as few words as possible. His description of how men and women fought with the challenge intrigued me so much that I took it for myself. After searching and searching my heart and mind for an appropriate definition, I finally got an answer. They are ready? Drum roll, please: Because as women we are made amazing and uniquely by God, femininity is living in all the splendor for which God created us!

However, being a woman is difficult. It is well known that in the workplace, if they request a more flexible schedule at work to devote time to the upbringing of children, they run the risk of being seen as less ambitious, and of not receiving a promotion. These issues cause a furor in our culture that proclaims equality between women and men; but many women suffer under even heavier burdens. Abuse. Sex trafficking In some places, the impossibility of voting. A recent article highlighted the increase in suicides of women in Kurdistan, where women feel that they are "unable to leave abusive marriages for fear of being killed by their partners or families", and some have decided to set themselves on fire as a way to attract attention to your difficult situation.

On the one hand, great expectations; on the other, challenges and sufferings. Where can we reflect correctly on what it means to be a woman? Where can men learn to treat women?

  • Women have a dignity and a value, much greater than what the world attributes to them: They are created in the image of God to share their glory throughout the universe.

  • Women have a much bigger problem than the world recognizes: The problem of sin and rebellion against God. But they also have a much greater Savior than the world offers: A sinless Servant who was radical in his way of making friends with women and offering them life.

  • Women have received instructions from this Savior in his Word of how they should express their femininity.

"The essence of biblical masculinity is a sense of benevolent responsibility to lead, provide and protect women in ways that are appropriate in the different relationships of man."

The strength we have to give birth, we also need it to face personal and family challenges. Acting like men to seek to be heard and respected will lead us, in the long run, to despise what we are.

Therefore, should women be offended that they are created to have a willingness to help? No more than men should be offended by needing help! Should the woman be offended because she was created from the side of man? No more than man should have been created from dust.

Friend, I urge you to find harmony with yourself. Love yourself and appreciate your qualities, your strengths, your gifts. Thank God for the feminine attributes he has placed on you, because they are indispensable for life on this planet to continue.

IDEAS TO CULTIVATE THE BIBLICAL FEMININE

The word cultivate means: To make in the earth the agricultural work necessary to plant and sow seeds or to take care of the planted and obtain fruits of it.

1- Be intentional
We have been very bombarded with feminist ideas that are not grounded in the word of the Lord. The same society leads us in times of crisis to act, respond and show us as women who are not based on the word. Be intentional. Day after day choose the design of God for you, choose to please Him, choose to live for His glory.

2- Study the Word
There are no better steps to cultivate femininity than following the guidelines that The Lord left us in His word.

... to love their husbands, to love their children, to be prudent, pure, industrious at home, kind, subject to their husbands, so that the word of God is not blasphemed. Titus 2: 4-5

3- Express your femininity correctly
A very popular saying is: What you sow that harvests. If you express your femininity wrongly, that is what you will be planting in the hearts of women, of young women you teach, of girls, of your daughter, of your sister, or your mother. In the end you will reap what you wrongly planted.

There are many correct ways to express femininity and the word of God tells us how:

a) Being Right Help

And the Lord God said: It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helpmate (Genesis 2:18).

That word "helps" we often reject because we associate it with inferiority or insignificance. Pastor John MacArthur comments on this word: "Woman was created by God to supply the deficiency of man.

b) Being Intelligently Subjected

Likewise, you women, be subject to your husbands, so that if some of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word for the conduct of their wives (1 Peter 3: 1)

The biblical idea is for men to show humble and loving leadership; and that women respond in intelligent and joyful submission.

c) Stimulating Masculinity

Jhon Pipper's definition of the "Mature Finacy" is very accurate in his book: What is the difference?

"At the heart of mature femininity there is a free disposition to affirm, receive and nurture men with strength and leadership in ways appropriate to their different relationships as women".

In summary what Jhon Pipper shows us is that you are called to help your husband to be the best he can be.

d) With your clothes

Likewise, that women dress in decent clothes, with modesty and modesty, not with ostentatious hair, not with gold, or pearls, or costly dresses; but with good works, as befits women who profess piety. (1 Timothy 2: 9-10)

Our dress and appearance is something very powerful. It is one of the most important ways we have as women to communicate and send a message about our hearts, our values and what we believe.

Love what you are, and this will bring peace to your heart and to humanity.
