Espero que estén teniendo un lindo día 🌞 El día de hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi visita al zoológico de mi ciudad durante Semana Santa, como resultado de una mala experiencia con una posada y un viaje fallido decidimos visitar el zoológico para no perder ese día y resultó ser mucho mejor de lo planeado, este es un lindo parque y zoológico, el único en la ciudad y recientemente lo han reinaugurado y ambientado para el disfrute de toda la familia al aire libre rodeados de naturaleza y animales, aproveche cada minuto en ese parque y tomé muchas fotos y grabé varios videos los cuales compartiré hoy con ustedes en este post, acompañenme a hacer un recorrido por este hermoso lugar y conocer los animales que en el habitan, sin mas, aquí les muestro.
I hope you are having a nice day 🌞 Today I want to share with you my visit to the zoo in my city during Easter, as a result of a bad experience with an inn and a failed trip we decided to visit the zoo so as not to miss that day and it turned out to be much better than planned, this is a beautiful park and zoo, the only one in the city and it has recently been reopened and set for the enjoyment of the whole family outdoors surrounded by nature and animals, take advantage of every minute in that park and I took many photos and recorded several videos which I will share with you today in this post, come with me to take a tour of this beautiful place and meet the animals that inhabit it, without further ado, here I show you.

Un poco de historia | A little history
Este parque zoológico lleva por nombre "La Guaricha" y está ubicado en la ciudad de Maturin, estado Monagas, existente desde el año 1979, el nombre que posee es un término con el que se hace referencia a los niños y ya este parque fue creado especialmente para los niños y su disfrute este fue el nombre perfecto. El parque zoológico La Guaricha cuenta con 7 hectáreas de terreno donde podemos encontrar áreas verdes con muchos árboles de gran tamaño, variedad de animales, una laguna artificial, una fuente de soda y espacios para hacer picnic.
This zoo is called "La Guaricha" and is located in the city of Maturin, Monagas state, existing since 1979, the name it has is a term that refers to children and this park was already created especially for children and their enjoyment this was the perfect name. La Guaricha Zoo has 7 hectares of land where we can find green areas with many large trees, a variety of animals, an artificial lagoon, a soda fountain and spaces for picnicking.
En años anteriores este parque era muy popular, todas las familias iban a pasar el día, disfrutar y compartir en él y siempre habían eventos en días como el Día del Niño con música, juegos, atracciones, premios, comida y demás, uno de los recuerdos más bonitos de mi infancia lo tuve en ese parque, el cual solía visitar mucho de niña y recuerdo haber disfrutado mucho y ser feliz en ese lugar.
In previous years this park was very popular, all families would spend the day, enjoy and share in it and there were always events on days like Children's Day with music, games, attractions, prizes, food and others, one of the I had the most beautiful memories of my childhood in that park, which I used to visit a lot as a child and I remember having enjoyed it a lot and being happy in that place.
Durante varios años el parque fue decayendo al punto en el que quedó en un completo descuido y abandono, el ambiente comenzó a tornarse en mal estado, los animales descuidados, las áreas verdes sucias y mucha inseguridad, muchas noticias sobre ese parque circulaban ya que en muchas oportunidades varias personas fueron víctimas de robos en ese lugar, por lo que poco a poco las personas dejaron de ir al parque hasta quedar en un completo abandono tanto por parte de los trabajadores como de los visitantes.
Recientemente este año el parque ha mejorado y mucho, se ha mejorado la seguridad, recuperaron las áreas verdes, incluyeron animales nuevos y ahora el parque tiene mejor aspecto, ha vuelto a ser un parque zoológico lleno de animales y vida y sobre todo de visitantes, actualmente es uno de los lugares más visitados de toda la ciudad y a donde muchos acuden a llevar a sus niños o simplemente a pasear en familia, poco a poco se ha convertido nuevamente en aquel hermoso parque que solía visitar de niña y en vista de todas esas mejoras no podía perder la oportunidad de volver a ese lindo lugar luego de años sin ir.
For several years the park was declining to the point where it was completely neglected and abandoned, the environment began to turn into a bad state, neglected animals, dirty green areas and a lot of insecurity, a lot of news about that park circulated since in many times several people were victims of robberies in that place, so little by little people stopped going to the park until they were completely abandoned by both workers and visitors.
Recently this year the park has improved a lot, security has been improved, green areas have been recovered, new animals have been included and now the park has a better appearance, it has returned to being a zoo full of animals and life and above all visitors, It is currently one of the most visited places in the entire city and where many go to take their children or simply to walk with the family, little by little it has become again that beautiful park that I used to visit as a child and in view of all those improvements could not miss the opportunity to return to that beautiful place after years without going.
Visitando el parque zoológico La Guaricha | Visiting La Guaricha Zoo
Hace unas 2 semanas mi pareja y yo fuimos al parque zoológico La Guaricha, donde pasamos toda una tarde paseando por sus instalaciones y conociendo los nuevos animales que posee este lugar, tuvimos un recorrido muy lindo por todas las áreas del parque y realmente quedé impresionada con la belleza del lugar, todo muy lindo, limpio, animales bien cuidados, lleno de personas paseando y haciendo picnic, niños corriendo y jugando en los columpios y toboganes, muchos vendedores ambulantes vendiendo todo tipo de objetos, comida y dulces, el ambiente era muy alegre, feliz y festivo, parecía un día de celebración, me gustó mucho ver el parque nuevamente con vida y disfruté mucho todo el tiempo que estuve allí.
About 2 weeks ago my partner and I went to the La Guaricha Zoo, where we spent an entire afternoon walking around its facilities and getting to know the new animals that this place has, we had a very nice tour of all the areas of the park and I was really impressed with the beauty of the place, everything very nice, clean, well cared for animals, full of people walking and having picnics, children running and playing on the swings and slides, many street vendors selling all kinds of objects, food and sweets, the atmosphere was very cheerful, happy and festive, it seemed like a day of celebration, I really liked seeing the park alive again and I really enjoyed the whole time I was there.

Los primero animales que vimos fueron unos lindos ciervos, estaban en un área muy grande con otros animales como chivos y cerditos domésticos, este lugar para ellos tenía unos árboles muy grandes que le daban sombra a estos animales y agua para refrescarse.
The first animals we saw were some beautiful deer, they were in a very large area with other animals such as goats and domestic pigs, this place for them had some very large trees that gave shade to these animals and water to cool off.
Me gustó mucho que en las jaulas colocaron carteles de identificación de los animales de cada una, además de información sobre los animales como el tipo de comida que consumen, algunas características, peso, tiempo de vida e incluso los nombres que les colocaron, aunque no todos tenían la mayoría si, los chivos se llaman Dulce, Esmeralda, Amatista y Amor mientras que los cerditos domésticos se llaman Peppa y George.
I really liked that in the cages they placed identification signs for the animals of each one, as well as information about the animals such as the type of food they consume, some characteristics, weight, lifespan and even the names they were given, although not everyone had the majority yes, the goats are called Dulce, Esmeralda, Amethyst and Love while the domestic pigs are called Peppa and George.
Lo siguiente que vimos fueron unos monitos, habían solo 3 y estaban separados en jaulas diferentes, no entendí el por qué no estaban juntos, pero lo que si se es que se veían algo tristes y uno incluso estaba dormido.
The next thing we saw were some little monkeys, there were only 3 and they were separated in different cages, I didn't understand why they weren't together, but what I do know is that they looked somewhat sad and one was even asleep.
Seguidamente vimos unas hermosas y coloridas Guacamayas, una de las aves más hermosas que pueden existir, eran un poco tímidas, se alejaban cuando intentaba acercarme pero alcancé a verlas bien y tomarles fotos.
Next we saw some beautiful and colorful Macaws, one of the most beautiful birds that can exist, they were a little shy, they moved away when I tried to get closer but I managed to see them well and take pictures of them.
Otras aves del zoológico eran un halcón, gavilán y una enorme lechuza, a estos 3 animales no los pude fotografiar muy bien ya que se encontraban muy alejados de la jaula pero pude verlos en persona y por primera vez pude ver un halcón y un gavilán, o al menos así de cerca.
Other birds in the zoo were a falcon, a sparrow hawk and a huge owl, I couldn't photograph these 3 animals very well since they were very far from the cage but I was able to see them in person and for the first time I was able to see a falcon and a sparrow hawk, or at least that close.
Un poco alejadas de esas jaulas se encontraban las ultimas aves, unos loros y guacamayas pequeñas y un hermoso y colorido pavo real que al parecer se había fugado de su jaula y se encontraba en la parte externa superior de esta.
A little far from those cages were the last birds, some small parrots and macaws and a beautiful and colorful peacock that apparently had escaped from its cage and was in the upper external part of it.
Habían varios lindos conejos de diferentes colores pero la mayoría estaban ocultos en su madriguera y solo 2 estaban afuera comiendo pasto, al lado de ellos vimos por primera vez un perezoso durmiendo en una pequeña hamaca, apenas pudimos verlo ya que siempre estuvo dormido y nunca salió de su hamaca.
There were several cute rabbits of different colors but most of them were hidden in their burrow and only 2 were outside eating grass, next to them we saw for the first time a sloth sleeping in a small hammock, we could hardly see him since he was always asleep and never came out of his hammock.
En este punto el recorrido comienza a ponerse interesante, pues vimos un animal un poco más grande y poco común, se trata de una baba o mejor conocido como caimán, aunque no era de gran tamaño aun así era algo grande, siempre estuvo dentro del agua en su jaula.
At this point the tour begins to get interesting, because we saw a slightly larger and unusual animal, it is a slime or better known as an alligator, although it was not large, it was still something large, it was always in the water in his cage.
Al lado había un animal aún más grande y uno que jamás había visto en persona, un cocodrilo enorme, me impresionó mucho su tamaño y lo imponente que era a pesar de que nunca dejo su lugar.
Next to it there was an even bigger animal and one that I had never seen in person, a huge crocodile, I was very impressed by its size and how imposing it was despite the fact that it never left its place.
Por ultimo vimos a los animales más grandes e imponentes de todo el zoológico, unos jaguares, habían al menos 4 y solo 1 estaba caminando por su jaula, mientras que en otra jaula había una sola llamada Ichabella que al parecer estaba dormida.
Finally we saw the largest and most impressive animals in the entire zoo, some jaguars, there were at least 4 and only 1 was walking through its cage, while in another cage there was a single one named Ichabella who apparently was asleep.
A partir de aquí comenzamos a caminar por otras áreas del parque hasta llegar a la laguna, hermosa y tranquila.
From here we begin to walk through other areas of the park until we reach the lagoon, beautiful and quiet.
En la orilla de la laguna pudimos observar que había otros animales, una gran cantidad de terecayas que nadaban por toda la laguna y aunque apenas se notaban en el agua logré capturar algunas fotos.
On the shore of the lagoon we could see that there were other animals, a large number of terecayas that swam throughout the lagoon and although they were barely noticeable in the water I managed to capture some photos.
Esta parte de la laguna es mucho mas tranquila, con un enorme árbol que da sombra donde se puede sentir mucha brisa y tranquilidad y fue el lugar perfecto para unas hermosas fotos.
This part of the lagoon is much quieter, with a huge tree that provides shade where you can feel a lot of breeze and tranquility and it was the perfect place for some beautiful photos.
Finalmente llegamos a la estatua del león, en homenaje a Casimiro, un león que hace muchos años habitaba en este zoológico y murió debido al descuido y malas condiciones en las que se encontraba, se dice que no estaba siendo alimentado y se piensa que era cierto, pues, se le llegó a ver al león muy delgado prácticamente “en los huesos” , cuando Casimiro murió fue sepultado en el parque zoológico La Guaricha y sobre él fue hecha esta estatua en su homenaje, Casimiro fue el animal más icónico de este lugar y aunque ya han pasado muchos años desde que murió aún se le recuerda con cariño.
Finally we arrived at the statue of the lion, in homage to Casimiro, a lion that lived in this zoo many years ago and died due to carelessness and poor conditions in which it was found, it is said that it was not being fed and it is thought that it was true , well, the very thin lion was seen practically “in the bones”, when Casimiro died he was buried in the La Guaricha zoo and this statue was made over him in his honor, Casimiro was the most iconic animal in this place and although many years have passed since he died, he is still fondly remembered.
Fue un recorrido muy lindo y una visita muy interesante, me encantó volver a este lugar después de tantos años y ver que ha vuelto a ser un parque lleno de animales y con un ambiente perfecto para compartir y disfrutar con familia y amigos, otra cosa que vimos pero no pudimos hacer es un paseo en bote en la laguna, habían muchas personas en espera y no queríamos pasar nuestro tiempo en el parque haciendo fila, pero espero volver pronto y dar ese paseo en bote que tanto llamó mi atención, fue difícil irnos de allí, nos gustó pasar tiempo en ese lugar pero ya era hora de regresar a casa, sin embargo, nos han quedado muy bonitos recuerdos y fotos de ese gran día que tanto disfrutamos.
It was a very nice tour and a very interesting visit, I loved coming back to this place after so many years and seeing that it has once again become a park full of animals and with a perfect environment to share and enjoy with family and friends, another thing that we saw but we could not do is a boat ride in the lagoon, there were many people waiting and we did not want to spend our time in the park standing in line, but I hope to return soon and take that boat ride that caught my attention so much, it was difficult to leave from there, we liked spending time in that place but it was time to return home, however, we have very nice memories and photos of that great day that we enjoyed so much.
