Orbital period

The orbital period of a celestial object is the time that this object takes to fulfill one revolution around another celestial object. it applies for planets orbiting stars, moons orbiting planets and binary stars. this term is also known as the sidereal period (which refers to the time that the object takes to return to the same position relative to the fixed stars projected in the celestial sphere). Planet Earth's orbital period is 1 year (1 Earth year). Jupiter's orbital period is 11.86 Earth years and Saturn's is 29.46 Earth years.
