Here is the list of countries by GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in US$, adjusted by PPP (purchasing power parity). This is IMF data.
The concept of PPP is useful because when converted to local currencies, the US$ is able to purchase different amounts of the same goods, based on the conversion rate of the local currency.
| Rank | Country | GDP(PPP) US$ (trillion) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | China | 30.2 |
| 2 | United States | 25.3 |
| 3 | India | 11.7 |
| 4 | Japan | 6.1 |
| 5 | Germany | 5.3 |
| 6 | Russia | 4.4 |
| 7 | Indonesia | 4.0 |
| 8 | United Kingdom | 3.8 |
| 9 | Brazil | 3.7 |
| 10 | France | 3.7 |
It is interesting to see how this changes over time. Asian countries are increasing their share, Western countries are decreasing it.
