By the time of the 80's it was quite normal to find a wide range of video games that allowed us to spend countless hours of entertainment, from our NES, SNES or any of the thousands of Chinese versions that came to market, it was completely casual to have in our collection of video games a large number of cartridges that usually included at least 2 or 3 games, but there were also some very peculiar cartridges that described on its label have more than 9000 games, some even claimed to have 9. 999,999 games, a number that already became quite absurd.
In our naivety as children and teenagers we would go to the stores to buy some games, and many of us would sometimes buy one of these cartridges, sometimes even included with the purchase of a video game console.
Fortunately this problem happened to us once, and usually happened when we went to the store to buy a cartridge and we took it without trying it first, I remember very well that the first time it happened to me was buying a nintendo that already brought the cartridge, and although by irony if it brought the amount of games that it said, all were not different, because only the first 10, 15 or 20 were different, and in the following tabs all the first games were repeated in different order, the truth is that I never understood the logical reason to do this kind of nonsense, although being very clear, they only did it to draw attention and that we buy those cartridges that sold us something that really was not.
Curiously enough, I never went to the trouble of buying one of those cartridges, thanks to the experience of my friends I was fully prepared to make a safe purchase, verifying that they tested the game I wanted to buy before paying for it.
There were even some cartridges that said they had 150 games in 1, some 200 in 1, and so different covers that ended up offering always the same "duplicate games", even so, sometimes it happened something very particular, and sometimes we were looking for a specific game but we could not find it anywhere, and to our surprise we would arrive to a place where they had the game we had been looking for, but it was included in one of those cartridges that said 200 in 1, something that in those cases we did not see so bad, because we would get the game we wanted, including some amount of extra games that in many cases, we did not have in our collection.
Some cartridges with these characteristics included in the label a description of the games it contained, even so we could not trust and we had to check before buying, although by experience 100% of the time these cartridges did bring the games that were shown on the label, but it was usually a maximum of 100 games in 1, these cartridges were the most epic because we paid a very low amount for an exaggerated amount of games.
Unfortunately, these misleading cartridges gave space to our distrust at the time of buying games, so most gamers went on to make purchases of cartridges that incorporated a maximum of 10 games in 1, although I in particular bought 4-in-1 cartridges, because these cartridges generally brought very good and uncommon games.
It was almost like an expedition when we went out to buy a specific game, in many occasions we did not find the game we wanted, but we ended up finding other games that calmed our frustration.
From an early age we lived a few scams, although they were mainly disappointments, but also on many occasions we ended up buying a cassette that among its menu contained an amazing game, so it became one of our new relics.
This was like the Xbox Game Pass but much cheaper, the truth is that it was an incomparable time in which we lived thousands of experiences, years that no matter how good or bad, it was one of the best gamers stages that have existed.
Para la época de los 80's era bastante normal encontrarnos con una amplia gama de videojuegos que nos permitían pasar infinidad de horas de entretenimiento, desde nuestras nintendos NES, SNES o alguna de las miles de versiones chinas que salieron al mercado, era completamente casual tener en nuestra colección de videojuegos una gran cantidad de cartuchos que incluían por lo general al menos 2 o 3 juegos, pero también existían unos cartuchos muy peculiares que describían en su etiqueta poseer más de 9000 juegos, incluso algunos decían tener 9.999.999 juegos, un número que ya se tornaba bastante absurdo.
En nuestra ingenuidad como niños y adolescentes íbamos a las tiendas para adquirir algunos juegos, y muchos de nosotros en ocasiones llegamos a adquirir uno de estos cartuchos, incluso a veces venían incluidos con la compra de una videoconsola.
Afortunadamente este problema nos ocurría una vez, y normalmente pasaba cuando íbamos a la tienda a comprar un cartucho y nos lo llevábamos sin antes probarlo, recuerdo muy bien que la primera vez que me pasó fue comprando un nintendo que ya traía incorporado el cartucho, y aunque por ironía si traía la cantidad de juegos que decía, todos no eran diferentes, pues solo los 10, 15 o 20 primeros eran diferentes, y en las siguientes pestañas se repetían todos los primeros juegos en diferente orden, la verdad es que nunca entendí la razón lógica para hacer este tipo de cosas sin sentido, aunque siendo muy claros, solo lo hacían para llamar la atención y que compráramos esos cartuchos que nos vendían algo que realmente no era.
Curiosamente nunca pasé molestias por uno de esos cartuchos, gracias a que por experiencia de mis amigos iba completamente preparado para realizar una compra segura, verificando que probaran el juego que deseaba llevarme antes de pagarlo.
Había incluso algunos cartuchos que decían que traían 150 juegos en 1, algunos 200 en 1, y así diferentes portadas que terminaban ofreciendo siempre lo mismo "juegos duplicados", aún así, en ocasiones pasaba algo muy particular, y es que a veces buscábamos mucho un juego en especifico pero no lo encontrábamos por ningún lado, y para nuestra sorpresa llegábamos a un lugar en donde tenían el juego que tanto habíamos buscado, pero estaba incluido en uno de esos cartuchos que decía 200 en 1, algo que en esos casos no veíamos tan mal, pues nos llevaríamos el juego que queríamos, incluyendo alguna cantidad de juegos extras que en muchos casos, no teníamos en nuestra colección.
Algunos cartuchos con estas características incluían en la etiqueta una descripción de los juegos que contenía, aún así no podíamos confiarnos y debíamos revisar antes de comprar, aunque por experiencia el 100% de las veces estos cartuchos si traían los juegos que se mostraban en su etiqueta, pero por lo general era máximo de 100 juegos en 1, estos cartuchos eran los más épicos pues pagábamos una suma muy baja por una cantidad de juegos exagerada.
Por desgracia, estos cartuchos engañosos dieron espacio a nuestra desconfianza a la hora de comprar juegos, por lo que la mayoría de gamers pasamos a realizar compras de cartuchos que incorporaban un máximo de 10 juegos en 1, aunque yo en lo particular compraba casets de 4 en 1, pues estos cartuchos generalmente traían juegos muy buenos y poco comunes.
Era casi como una expedición cuando salíamos a comprar un juego en especifico, en muchas ocasiones no encontrábamos el juego que deseábamos, pero si que terminábamos encontrando otros juegos que calmaban nuestra frustración.
Desde temprana edad vivimos unas cuantas estafas, aunque principalmente eran decepciones, aunque también en muchas ocasiones terminábamos comprando un caset que entre su menú contenía un juego increíble, por lo que se convertía en una de nuestras nuevas reliquias.
Este era como el Game Pass de Xbox pero mucho más económico, la verdad que fue una época incomparable en la que vivimos miles de experiencias, años que sin importar lo bueno o lo malo, fue una de las mejores etapas gamers que han existido.
