I spent a cosy Saturday evening at Hawksmoor.
Priding themselves on classic steak cuts, my main objective was to assess whether they lived up to hype given by friends and family.
Hidden down a narrow side street, walk too fast and you’ll miss the entrance. The basement restaurant is simple yet allows the focus to be on the food.
I ordered the fillet steak cooked rare (the only way in my opinion) with beef dripping fries, onion rings and peppercorn sauce. The exterior was charred and smokey while the inside melted in my mouth; a dream combination.
Due to its high-priced menu, this is definitely a spot for a special occasion. The steak was cooked to perfection and definitely lived up to its reputation so was definitely worth the trip.
