Taking advantage of the long weekend, I once again visited the Vistula region in Grudziadz. Everyone should visit the city of Grudziadz, I have already inserted pictures of picturesque streets and beautiful monuments. Today a little bit about nature from this area.
The first photo shows a wonderful view of the Vistula tributary emerging from the pre-war "Stary Czerpak" pumping station in Rzadz. In the second photo: the pumping station hatch through which the water is streaming with great noise; further you can see meadows along the Vistula river, beautiful at any time of the year, and on the last one - the queen of Polish rivers - the Vistula.
Technical curiosity: The "Czerpak" cut off the waters of the Marusza (Rudniczanka) River and the Main Channel from the backwater of the Vistula high waters through closed steel gates and protected the nearby areas against flooding. The modernization of the pumping station from 1901 was recently commissioned by the Polish Waters from Gdansk. Thanks to these works, water retention was increased also in the area of Gdansk.
