I recently took a walk by the river at sunset. After the sunset the sky looked like a vibrant multicolored canvas reflected in the water. A moored boat added to the charm of the scenery.
I took this picture in my city, Warsaw in Poland, on the Vistula boulevards. Vistula is our main river. When you compare it with the world's main rivers, it is a mid-sized one. It is 1022 km long. The boulevards are stunning and full of life for the greater part of the year. It's a place where most of the city's residents visit just to relax, eat some delicious food in numerous bars and restaurants, or just to gather their thoughts while admiring the beautiful views.
It鈥檚 also a popular spot for dates or for picking someone up. I think that many relationships started here. 馃榾
Unfortunately, the state of the river is not too good, frankly speaking. It is better to avoid swimming in this river, as it is pretty heavily polluted. This is a common problem for many rivers flowing through large cities.
For all that, however, the river brings immense joy to people living in a constant rush, as the life in Warsaw moves at a breakneck pace. It is nice to come here and slow down for a moment to make a better connection with yourself. Beautiful scenery makes you want to pause, think, and just reflect.
