BTC has begun to lose it's dominance and ETH is threatening to take over soon, if this trend continues.
The thing about ethereum is that it's more advanced than bitocoin. It has smart contracts, virtual machine, faster blocks, cheaper transaction costs etc. Also recent news have been pumping the price up hard (Putin met Buterin).
Hopefully bitcoin will see some improvements or consensus soon or it may fade.
