Foxconn was founded by Terry Gou in 1974. It is now the world's largest electronics and contract manufacturing company. The company has the largest employers and it is the fourth largest information technology company in the world. Some of its customers are Apple, PlayStation,Kindles etc, and now they are deploying power into the cryptocurrencies to bring them in masses.
An ancillary of Foxconn has agreed to help Sirin Lab in developement of blockchain-epowered phone , named as Finney.
This mobile phone will have support to Bitcoin(BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin(LTC) etc, and a built-in secure hardware system to support cryptocurrencies and many blockchain appliocations.
Sirin raised $158 million in December for the project in an initial coin offering, in addition to $70 million raised previously. The phone is slated to ship in October. Sirin plans to sell the device through eight new stores, located in places with the most active crypto communities, like Vietnam and Turkey.
Co-founder and CEO of Sirin Lab "Hogeg" said he hopes it will eventually be sold through mobile carriers as well. So far, more than 25,000 units have been preordered, the company said. Sirin aims to ship from 100,000 to a few million units this year.
