Pelendur was born in 1879 of the third age in the middle earth of Tolkien. Pelendur became the steward of Gondor in 1940. In 1944, Gondor remained kingless. Normally, Firiel, the daughter of the ex-king Ondoher, was supposed to be the queen of Gondor. But Pelendur said that during the war, they needed a king, not a queen. And so the Gondor council made Earnil the new king of Gondor. Pelendur guided Earnil in the right direction. Pelendur passed away in 1998.
