Maximus was born in 370. The exact name of Maximus is unknown. Maximus became emperor of the Roman state in 409.
In the 400's, the Roman Empire was about to collapse. And many Roman generals have declared themselves emperors. Maximus is one of those generals.
Maximus, in Portugal, pronounced kenid the Roman emperor. The people of Spain and Portugal supported Maximus as an emperor. At the same time there are two different emperors in Britain and Rome. Maximus started a war against these two emperors.
Maximus made successful wars in the beginning. But in 411 Maximus was defeated. And after that, Maximus resigned from the empire.
Maximus began studying the priesthood in the monastery. In 413 Maximus died.
