Hostilianus was born in 230 AD. The full name of Hostilianus is Gaius Valens Hostilianus Messius Quintus. Hostilianus became emperor of the Roman state in 251 BC.
Hostilianus is the second son of Decis. Hostilianus' father and his brother died in the war against the Goths. The Roman senate, on the other hand, declared Hostilianus the emperor of the new Roman state. But the Roman army also made Gallus the emperor. Gallus, who does not want a civil war, wanted to adopt Hostilianus. On this count, Hostilianus and Gallus could together make an empire.
But Hostilianus can not evaluate this proposal, and a plague epidemic emerged in the city of Rome. And Hostilianus died because of this plague.
