Denethor was born in the middle earth of Tolkien in the third age of the year 2930. Denethor is the father of Boromir and Faramir. Denethor directed Gondor for 35 years. During these years, Sauron was empowered and regularly attacked Gondor. Denethor successfully defended most of these attacks. Denethor tried to use Palantir to learn about Sauron's actions in advance. But Sauron has noticed this and has often deceived Denethor. Denethor thought his son Faramir had died in the final battle. And he actually tried to burn himself with Faramir, who wasn't dead. Faramir was rescued by Gandalf at the last moment. But Denethor is burned and dead.
