Hey Actifitters,

After our training and the various meetings I had to attend yesterday, I thought I could 'escape' quickly for a short loop around Lake Elizabeth in Fremont Central Park. This was suggested by various AI and I was not disappointed. This was the view when I got there, just before sunset.

I had time to walk a bit around the lake before golden hour lights started.

But the best views were actually on the opposite hills with beautiful pink colors. These are the Diablo Range foothills with the infamous Mission Peak.

alt

The majestic Moon made it so much more dramatic! I thought this particular one was Mission Peak, but from what Google AI tells me, this is a common mistake and the communication and broadcast antennas are actually at the top of Mount Allison. I'll use it as my entry for #AroundTheWorld contest.

Mount Allison, Fremont, California, USA

As if it wasn't ominous enough, many birds joined the party. Not really visible on the photos, but it was hundreds of them!

alt

The lake with the lower light and the pinkish hills as the backdrop, that's just beautiful in any direction you look.

alt

Even on the other side with the actual sunset, which was the very reason I went there and made my way around the lake.

That trail seems like a perfect one for a quick run, too bad I didn't bring any running gear for that short business trip.

I finished the 2+ mile loop around the lake, stopping here and there for more sunset photos, with a mix of orange and pink vivid colors, along with beautiful reflections.

And finally, after a few detours, and taking my time, I was back at my starting point, as it was getting dark. Just in time for one last reflection of the Moon in the lake.

alt

It was dark enough for a direct view of the Moon.

I picked up delicious sushi on my way back and called it a day. Obviously this wasn't a greatly active day, as I had to attend a training and various meetings, but that end of day stroll around the lake was perfect to get a few more steps and pretend I wasn't too lazy! Next couple of days probably won't even have that.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
