Hey Actifitters,
When we went for our first break in the yard with Kaia, I didn't really notice anything different, except of course the terrible heat and humidity, but that was expected, the forecast not really showing any signs of improvement for the next couple of days. Le Chat was out there and everything looked normal.
But when we prepared for our daily walk later in the afternoon, we found a lot of haze and a strong smell of smoke. I hadn't heard yet about all these giant wildfires in Canada, so I wasn't sure what was happening and almost thought all the neighbors had decided to have extra large bonfires. It was weird!
That didn't stop us from going to the small forest of course.
With the sunset colors and the haze, it became even stranger, yellow and orange haze, that doesn't happen often!
I later read this smoke and haze were actually a significant health hazard, so it's a good thing we didn't walk for too long. I did have a scare in the evening when the A/C system went into soft lockout with a high pressure sensor error message. If you remember all the issues I had with the heating part of the system when it was installed at the end of last year, you can understand I got very worried. It was already kind of late, but I started leaving voicemails on the numbers I could find for the company that installed the system. Luckily the lockout cleared itself up maybe a couple hours later and never came back. Turns out this is not that uncommon with modern systems when it gets really hot outside. It's usually to protect the condenser from getting damaged or even cracked.
Anways, that's about it for yesterday, I think temperature will get a couple degrees cooler, better than nothing. Smoke and haze seem to be here to stay though, so still no running for now.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow
