Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday's weather was very different, it was sunny but unfortunately much warmer, in the mid 40s F (around 7C). I guess one of us at least liked that: Le Chat spent quite a while on top of her house soaking up the sun.
Although I was very sad to literally hear the snow melting rapidly, a silver lining is we could enjoy our afternoon espressos on the deck without even a jacket.
Of course, Kaia had other ideas, sitting quietly without doing anything isn't exactly her forte! She somehow managed to find an old tennis ball under all that snow and that kept her busy for a while.
Burying her face in what was left of the snow was of course inevitable!
All this energy expenditure made even Le Chat move a bit, albeit mostly to groom herself.
And then she suddenly rushed to the end of the deck, clearly focused on something. Well, a plane flying above made her lose that focus for a second but evidently something was there.
And indeed, she had seen this little guy leaving the backyard as fast as it could, which is not very fast in the snow. Luckily, it was already on the other side of the fence and quickly into a tree when Kaia saw it. I have no doubt she'd have caught it otherwise. That was a cute opossum that just escaped from under the deck.. I hope it stays clear from Kaia in the future..
A bit later, when the sun was already mostly behind the trees, we started our daily walk behind the front yard.
The colors we found in the sky on our way to the bigger forest were amazing. I just love sunsets!
A few were still lingering after we made it to the forest.
But it got dark quickly.
And it was fully dark when we cut through the forest one last time on our way back.
And that was it for the day's activities. I hope colder temperatures come back soon, at least below freezing, so we can keep the snow longer. Some new snow would be good too, but probably not for the next few days.
