Ain't no rest for the wicked - My Actifit Report Card: October 20 2025
Hey Actifitters,
What a difference a day can make!! With the blue sky and bright sun yesterday, it was difficult to imagine how bad the weather was less than a day before.
We still had a few signs though, and a lot more leaves on the ground because of the heavy rain and wind.
But lots of fall colors are still there. Like I said, we'll try and enjoy them for as long as we can.
This weather is much better for Kaia and Le Chat to hang out in the yard obviously.
Once again, we were short on time, so we only went for a short walk in the small forest.
Even with the limping, Kaia still behaves like a puppy when we're out there. It's fun to see.
Again, same trees as the day before, but what a difference in brightness!!
And as usual, we added just a little distance in the neighborhood.
As you may have guessed from the cover photo, the main event of the day was Cage the Elephant concert at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. That venue is definitely one of my favorites, not too big, and so beautiful inside.
As often, we couldn't make it for the very first opening band Vlad Holiday. But we managed to get there in time for Hey, Nothing. Probably not something I would listen normally but live it was pretty cool. They were fun and full of energy. Maybe I'll check out more of their music.
But of course, everybody was waiting for the main course: Cage the Elephant!
I can't believe they started almost 20 years ago, but they still got the same great energy on stage. For me, it's one of these bands that sounds so much better live. Even if in that case the sound wasn't so great, sometimes we could barely hear the singer's voice over the instruments.
Talking about the singer, great performance anyways, always kicking and jumping all around the stage!
In short, another great show in a beautiful venue!
And bonus, lots of steps: since there were many events in Detroit at the same time, especially the Lions game and Mumford and Sons concert, we decided to park a little further to avoid the mess getting out of downtown. Good choice and extra steps!
