Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday was yet another regular work day. We had some rain, but late afternoon was dry and we went for a walk with Kaia. Since there was no hope to catch any sunset, we went directly to the forest. Not sure if the heavy rains did that, but the tape at our favorite entrance is finally down.
It didn't stop us before but I guess now it's more official. Kaia doesn't care either way...
We couldn't resist to go and check out the progress of the after-storm cleanup.
The progress was really quick at the beginning, but now that all trails are fully open with no obstacle, I think it's on hold.
Kaia is a bit different from Genepi in that regard: she doesn't climb on all fallen trees and stumps, but this time she did.
As we were about to exit the forest, now in complete darkness, I saw something. Kaia didn't see it and didn't catch any scent. But the magic of photography allowed me to confirm: a couple of deer was just relaxing right there. They didn't move but I'm sure they were ready to bolt in case we got too close.
On the way back, the Moon made its first apparition. It was playing hide-and-seek with clouds, but I was able to snap a few good photos between two big clouds. This was my favorite:
We finished our walk in darkness but near the end, the sky got illuminated a few times by lightning. Not very visible on these photos but beautiful!
A couple hours later, the storm got much more intense. At first, it didn't rain though, so I stood in the backyard and played with my phone camera. This is what the sky looked like between lightning.
I couldn't catch an actual lightning strike, but I got an interesting result with one of the photos:
The storm lasted several hours, with heavy rain, loud thunder and lightnings. Luckily, no flooding and no power/internet outage this time.
