This past February 4, it was 46 years since the release of the eleventh studio album by the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, entitled Rumours, considered not only the best work of the group, but also one of the best albums of the 70's, as well as one of the best albums in history.
With worldwide sales in excess of 45 million copies, this album reached the top of the charts in several countries, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.
At the twentieth edition of the Grammy Awards, held in early 1978, and the first I was able to witness on television, Rumours won in the category of "Album of the Year"; and that would be the beginning of my platonic love with Stevie Nicks, the beautiful vocalist of the group, and who would accompany me during my teenage years.
Some years later, during a family vacation in the state of Florida, I had the opportunity to attend with my brother, and 45,000 other people, a concert of Fleetwood Mac at the Tangerine Bowl in the city of Orlando, being the first time in my life that I attended a concert of a great band, and the first and only time, so far, that I did it abroad, since the rest of the concerts I have gone to: Van Halen, Saga, Quiet Riot, and of other groups, I did it during their visits to Venezuela, my native country.
Now, after this long introduction, in which I shamelessly confess my admiration for Fleetwood Mac, and the platonic relationship that united me during my adolescence with one of its members, I invite you to relax and enjoy the musical selection that I share today on this platform.
El pasado 4 de Febrero, se cumplieron 46 años del lanzamiento del decimoprimer álbum de estudio de la banda de rock británico-estadounidense, Fleetwood Mac, titulado Rumours, considerado, no solo el mejor trabajo de la agrupación, sinó también uno de los mejores álbumes de la década de los 70, así como también de la historia.
Con ventas a nivel mundial superiores a las 45 millones de copias, este álbum logró alcanzar la primera posición en las listas discográficas de diversos países, entre los cuales están incluidos Australia, Canadá, Estados Unidos, Nueva Zelanda, Países Bajos y el Reino Unido.
En la vigésima edición de los Premios Grammy, efectuada a principios del año 1978, y la primera que pude presenciar por televisión, Rumours triunfó en la categoría de "Album del Año"; y aquel sería el inicio de mi amor platónico con Stevie Nicks, la hermosa vocalista de la agrupación, y que acompañaría durante mis años de adolescencia
Algunos años después, durante unas vacaciones familiares en el estado de la Florida, tuve la oportunidad de asistir junto a mi hermano, y otras 45.000 personas, a un concierto de Fleetwood Mac en el Tangerine Bowl de la ciudad de Orlando, siendo la primera vez en mi vida que asistía a un concierto de una gran banda, y la primera y única vez, hasta el momento, que lo hice en el extranjero, puesto que el resto de conciertos a los que he ido: Van Halen, Saga, Quiet Riot, y de otras agrupaciones, lo hice durante sus visitas a Venezuela, mi país natal.
Ahora, luego de esta larga introducción, en la que confieso sin mayor pudor mi admiración por Fleetwood Mac, y la relación platónica que me unió durante mi adolescencia con una de sus integrantes, los invito a relajarse y disfrutar de la selección musical que hoy comparto por esta plataforma.

Following the commercial and critical success of Rumours, the track has become a staple of the band's live shows, often used as the opening song.
At the time The Chain was composed, the members were going through extremely difficult personal situations: Buckingham and Nicks were ending their relationship of many years, at the same time that John and Christine McVie's marriage was falling apart, as was that of Mick Fleetwood and his wife, Jenny Boyd.

This song was written by vocalist Stevie Nicks, and released as the second single from the album Rumours in March 1977 in the United States and in June of the same year in the United Kingdom, by Warner Bros. Records on both occasions.
Dreams is one of the band's most recognized songs, and reached outstanding positions in the European charts, such is the case of the United Kingdom where it reached the 24th position in the UK Singles Chart, while in the United States it reached the first place in the Billboard Hot 100, being the only single of the group to reach this position during their extensive musical career of more than half a century, which began in London in 1967.
At the end of 2020, Dreams experienced a resurgence in popularity, motivated by a video created on the TikTok network, re-entering the charts in some countries, as well as in the Spotify and Apple Music trends.

It reached #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, while in the UK it reached #38 on the UK Singles Chart. In 2011 it was re-released again as a single, and reached number 62 on the latter chart.
The lyrics describe the stormy and complicated separation that Buckingham experienced at the time, from his girlfriend and bandmate, Stevie Nicks.

This is my selection of the week. Somehow, I wanted to pay a brief tribute to this new anniversary of the release of this album, considered by many as one of the greatest albums of all times.
