This afternoon while I was in the parking lot of the building where I live opening my car, I decided to look at the sky looking for curious shapes in the clouds, when I noticed a white trail left behind by the passing of an airplane.

By the height of the aircraft it was evident that it was not a flight that had as origin or destination the local airport. On the other hand, its trajectory was in a southeast - northwest direction, so it did not seem to have as destination any of the cities located in the center of the country, including the capital of the republic, being probably an international flight.

With my cell phone I took some pictures as far as possible, before losing its trail in the immensity of the sky.

Esta tarde mientras me encontraba en el estacionamiento del edificio donde resido abriendo mi carro, decidí mirar al cielo buscando formas curiosas en las nubes, cuando observé una estela blanca que dejaba tras de sí el paso de un avión.

Por la altura de la aeronave era evidente de que no se trataba de un vuelo que tuviese como origen o destino el aeropuerto local. Por otra parte, su trayectoria era en dirección sureste - noroeste, con lo cual, tampoco parecía tener como destino alguno de las ciudades ubicadas en el centro del país, incluyendo la capital de la república, siendo probablemente un vuelo internacional.

Con mi teléfono móvil le tomé algunas fotografías hasta donde fue posible, antes de perder su rastro en la inmensidad del cielo.

After returning home a couple of hours later, I was still curious to find out the origin and destination of that plane, since Venezuelan airspace, unlike some years ago, is nowadays little transited for reasons that are not relevant to explain in this post.

With the Flightradar24 application and having taken the photos at 2:29 pm local time (18:29 UTC), I found that the only aircraft that crossed the airspace of the city, was a flight of the Brazilian airline Azul originating in the city of Campinas in the state of Sao Paulo, and bound for the city of Orlando in the United States, as can be seen in the following screenshot.

Luego de regresar a casa un par de horas después, todavía tenía curiosidad por averiguar el origen y destino de aquel avión, ya que el espacio aéreo venezolano, a diferencia de algunos años atrás, hoy en día es poco transitado por razones que no vienen al caso exponer en este post.

Con la aplicación Flightradar24 y habiendo tomado las fotos a las 2:29 pm hora local (18:29 UTC), encontré que la única aeronave que cruzó el espacio aéreo de la ciudad, era un vuelo de la aerolínea brasileña Azul originado en la ciudad de Campinas en el estado de Sao Paulo, y con destino a la ciudad de Orlando en los Estados Unidos, como puede observarse en la siguiente captura de pantalla.
