La Plaza Bolívar de la ciudad de Barquisimeto, se ubica donde anteriormente estuvo ubicada la Plaza Concepción en 1842. Posteriormente, en el año 1894 se colocarían unas bellas rejas provenientes de Nueva York y se adquirían varios solares de otras casas para ampliar la plaza. El 4 de junio de 1896, sería reinaugurada dándosele el nombre de Plaza Miranda, permaneciendo así hasta 1925, cuando se le otorga el nombre de Plaza Bolívar, sin embargo, no sería realmente sino hasta 1930 cuando el General Eustoquio Gómez, en aquel entonces gobernador del estado Lara, decretaría y construiría el actual pedestal para la colocación de la estatua ecuestre del Padre de la Patria, que fuese traída de Europa en ocasión de conmemorarse el centenario de la muerte de "El Libertador" Simón Bolívar.

La imagen tomada un par de años atrás, en el marco de una convocatoria realizada por las Redes Sociales, para fotógrafos aficionados con la finalidad de realizar un recorrido a pié por el casco histórico de la ciudad; fue tomada a color, y posteriormente la modificaría con las herramientas que proporciona el editor de imágenes PicsArt. En esta oportunidad, y como es usual en mis publicaciones anteriores, utilicé una superposición de filtros, comenzando con un filtro del tipo HDR (High Dynamic Range) con la finalidad de ampliar los tonos de la imagen original, y posteriormente un filtro sencillo de Blanco & Negro.

The Plaza Bolívar (Bolívar Square) in the city of Barquisimeto, is located where the Plaza Concepción was previously located in 1842. Later, in 1894, beautiful bars from New York would be placed and several plots of other houses were acquired to expand Square. The image taken a couple of years ago, within the framework of a call made by the Social Networks, for amateur photographers with the purpose of taking a walking tour through the historic center of the city; it was taken in color, and later I would modify it with the tools provided by the image editor PicsArt. On this occasion, and as usual in my previous publications, I used a filter overlay, starting with an HDR (High Dynamic Range) type filter in order to expand the tones of the original image, and then a simple White filter & Black.
