The bird that is, not the Whiskey....
Driving around Remsenburg happened to spot a bunch of Turkeys moving into a wooded area.
Wasn't able to get good shots before they made the woods.
A little over 100 years ago the Wild Turkey population in the US were down to 30,000 birds... Today restoration has brouht the number up to 7 million.
In Suffolk county Long Island, the DEC, Dept. of Environmental Conservation has asked residents to report Turkey sightings to see if the population warrants a hunting season on them.
