There is a Fern killer on the lose...
Last week I noticed something happened to the Lady ferns growing in front of my house.. At first I thought it was the work of deer...but deer don't generally bother ferns.
Looking closer at the destructive path it looked like a vehicle tire had made it...
Then stepping back the picture became clear...
I could see the tire tracks of what was a Quad like vehicle in the grass as well.
The ferns were crushed forward, so it was leaving when it went over them. I followed the impressions in the grass and saw were it went over a lawn sprinkler right behind the house... It appears to have came down the driveway turned around the backyard flattening the sprinkler then running through the ferns on the way out...
Ferns are my pride and joy. Love seeing them come up every Spring standing tall all through the summer.
Guess I shouldn't complain too much I could be living in Minneapolis, Seattle or Portland...
