Plans and Obstacles

Greetings, fellow sentient beings!

Here's a small-small story that might have looked big-big at the time that it happened right in front of my plans.

You might have heard lots of sayings such as:

If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans.

— was it Woody Allen, initially?

You all have recent examples since I guess you all had different plans. Or did you? Maybe the wisest around here were quite open to anything.

A fork in the road...

A HardFork on the blockchain...

The Clone Wars...

The Clown Wars...

Etc.

As I was driving up a mountain road that I thought i knew well, a day-old total change of landscape happened that blocked my attempts to proceed by car, for good, and then and there.
Something about the water supply line.

But...it was a hundred or so meters before my destination. A final slope that I needed to climb. And I could carry my luggage, albeit without too much comfort, or even with some significant discomfort, along the ridge of that newly formed heap of soil.

And the plan to find it there in the morning before my return trip. Then some communication, at last, to help me understand I had to move it further down unless I wanted it blocked on all sides. Something I was able to predict this time and hence, initiate said communication myself.

This was not an example of any great new plan. Just...about how easily the old ones are...you know...

This may be a micro-story but it applies to much more. I am one that believes in plans. Plans, you have to have them. If you are about to achieve them, achievements, that is. Not everybody agrees you need this in your existence. So, you have to have them, follow them, but also...

...adapt them to the new environment. Even if the environment changes quickly. It is normal for it to do so from time to time, sometimes without any warning or any sign to predict upon. Sometimes, despite our best predictions. New plans must be able to emerge as quickly.

So, I'd say, make plans but make them flexible. Adaptable. Allowing for Plan B.

This is the skill I urge you to develop — making your own Plan B and more. Seeing there is always an alternative. I don't believe in the one-way-only-to-do-it approach since I believe in creativity. And creativity is about finding new ways.

And here's a slight Off-topic.

I've read a line here, a line there, about an entity in the crypto world, called "Plan B". An interesting coincidence was...I had watched the movie "The Big Short" where Plan B Entertainment stood among the list of producers. Is the Universe trying to tell us something?
