Hello my fellow Splinterlands Warriors,
Welcome back to another cool and juicy Splinterlands post guys, and I hope all of you are doing absolutely great in your lives and enjoying another wonderful day with your family and friends. Looking at the season clock, the new ranked season is already underway, and there are still around 13 days and 19 hours remaining before it comes to an end. So, there is plenty of time left to play more battles, climb the trophy ladder, and collect some good rewards along the way while you race for your goal point. I hope all of you are having a great season so far and whether you are trying to reach a new league tier by improving your rating, grab a spot in the leaderboard or simply collect more rewards, I wish all of you the very best for the remaining days of the season.
Now, talking about my own progress in the Frontier mode, I am currently battling in the highest Gold I league with 2,760 trophies. My target this time is to reach 4,200 trophies, so I still have quite a lot of climbing to do. With more than 13 days remaining in the season, hopefully I can slowly push my trophy count higher and eventually reach that goal. Looking at the weekly raffle, I currently have 15 entries collected. There are around 4 days and 17 hours remaining before the raffle ends, and my target is to reach somewhere between 54 and 57 entries. So, I still have plenty of entries to collect, and hopefully the upcoming battles and rewards will help me reach that target.
Today's Frontier Daily Wheel also gave me a useful reward. Today marks my 121st consecutive streak day, and I received 3 Frontier Battle Energy from the wheel. My total Sparks balance currently stands at 31,092. The daily streak has been going on for quite a while now, and I am happy that I have managed to keep it alive for 121 days. Hopefully, I can continue the streak for many more days and keep collecting these additional Frontier rewards.
Apart from that, I also opened 5 Foundation Packs that I had collected during the last two days. From these packs, I managed to get 1 Epic card and 6 Rare cards, including 1 Archon, while the remaining cards were Common cards. It was not a huge pack opening, but getting an Epic along with a Rare Archon still made it a decent opening. Hopefully, the next few packs will bring some even more interesting pulls.
Nessa
Now moving on to today's featured monster, let us take a closer look at another interesting monster from the newest Reward card set. As you have already seen in the title above, today we will be discussing Nessa. So, if you are interested in knowing more about this powerful Magic monster that never misses its attacks, then let's take a deep dive without any further ado.
Nessa is a monster type card from the Life element and belongs to the Avian bloodline. It costs 9 mana to deploy and uses Magic attacks, so ideally you can use this card in large mana limit matches. Although its mana cost is relatively high, Nessa brings a very strong combination of Magic attack, Speed, Health, and several powerful abilities. It is a legendary card, so you would require total 11 cc cards to upgrade it to max level. At maximum level, this monster possesses five different abilities, including Flying, True Strike, Pinpoint, Execute, and Relentless Strike. These abilities allow Nessa to avoid some physical attacks, never miss her own attacks, make allied Sneak monsters more accurate, potentially attack a target twice, and deal additional True Damage against certain defensive abilities. Let us now take a closer look at her stats and abilities across different leagues.
BRONZE
At Level 1, Nessa possesses 3 Magic attack, 4 Speed, and 6 Health. Even at her first level, she already comes with two useful abilities called FLYING and TRUE STRIKE.
FLYING – Has a +25% chance to evade physical attacks. This has no effect if the attacker also has Flying, and the monster is immune to Earthquake.
TRUE STRIKE – Attacks will never miss.
SILVER
At Level 2, Nessa maintains 3 Magic attack and 4 Speed while her Health increases to 7. At this level, she unlocks another useful ability called PINPOINT.
PINPOINT – Allied Sneak monsters cannot miss.
GOLD
At Level 3, Nessa maintains 3 Magic attack, 4 Speed, and 7 Health. At this stage, she unlocks another powerful offensive ability called EXECUTE.
EXECUTE – If the target has 2 or less Health after a successful attack, performs another attack on the same unit.
DIAMOND / CHAMPION
At Level 4, Nessa reaches her maximum level with 4 Magic attack, 4 Speed, and 7 Health. At maximum level, she unlocks her final ability called RELENTLESS STRIKE.
RELENTLESS STRIKE – If an attack's damage is reduced by Shield, Void, or Forcefield, it instead deals 1 additional True Damage.
I think Nessa is a very powerful Legendary monster, especially because of the number of useful abilities packed into one card. First of all, although the 9 mana cost is certainly on the higher side, I think the monster does a good job of justifying that cost with its powerful Magic attack, high Speed, and decent Health. At the maximum level, reaching 4 Magic attack while maintaining 4 Speed makes Nessa a dangerous attacker who can put serious pressure on the enemy lineup. Since she uses Magic attacks, her damage can also go directly toward the enemy's Health unless other defensive abilities interfere with it.
The Flying ability is another useful defensive feature. It gives Nessa a 25% chance to evade physical attacks from monsters that do not have Flying. This can help her survive longer when she is targeted by physical attackers and not to forget that she is also immune to Earthquake. Then we have True Strike, which is probably one of the most fitting abilities for this monster. Nessa's own attacks simply cannot miss. This makes her damage output much more reliable because you do not have to worry about an attack failing. Pinpoint takes this idea one step further by extending the benefit to allied Sneak monsters. In other words, Nessa can support your backline attackers by making allied Sneak monsters unable to miss. Execute is another ability that I really like. If Nessa successfully attacks an enemy and brings that monster down to 2 or less Health, she gets another attack against the same target. Finally, we have Relentless Strike. If Nessa's attack damage gets reduced by abilities such as Shield, Void, or Forcefield, she can still deal 1 additional True Damage.
Overall, I think Nessa is a very versatile Magic monster. She combines offensive power, accuracy, defensive utility, team support, and additional damage mechanics into one card. Her 9 mana cost is high, but she can contribute in several different ways during a battle. So, if you are looking for a powerful Magic attacker that brings more to the battlefield than just raw damage, Nessa is certainly a very interesting monster to experiment with.
