I agree that it is fine film, I have not watched the others you mention. But to me, it lacks in pacing and has a few quite sloppily directed scenes, that takes me out of the experience. The lead, schoolboy actor is not sufficient, albeit still decent. So it is an overall judgment comparing it to the greatest that cinema has to offer .-)
