In Genesis 32: 22-32, the amazing struggle between Jacob and an angel is told, to which many Word scholars say it was God Himself or Jesus Christ pre-incarnate.
Jacob lived in a fearful situation as a result of the death persecution of his brother Esau, who insistently sought him to kill him. Under this terrible panic, Jacob had a mysterious encounter with the Lord of which he tells the story, that Jacob grabbed this angel in such a way that he did not release him until dawn. The fight was such that, although Jacob became ill with one of his legs, he achieved his goal of achieving God's blessing.
The victorious meeting of Jacoby, his brother Esau, was the product of this struggle between Jacob and the Lord. What God changes his name to Jacob, and calls him "Israel," which means "he who fights with God."
We can ask ourselves, how many different ways can we fight with God for a blessing?
Some take prayer as the strongest and safest instrument to fight with God and receive the reward of the request. Others take the quick and different manifestations of rapprochement with God to achieve the blessing similar to that conquered by Jacob.
This story of Jacob is an example of the struggle to receive God's blessings. The Christian must arm himself with the thought that his battles are spiritual and not carnal as the apostle Paul said.
We have no fight against blood or flesh, but against the principalities, the powers of darkness and the rulers of darkness and evil.
Fight your blessing and take the shield of faith, get on your knees and fight with God for the blessings that He has already conquered on the cross of Calvary.
