God is a jealous God, and He want all man which he created in his own image to worship only Him, when we worship idol it means we are committing sin against God himself. Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly calls people to abandon idols and seek Him with sincere hearts. Those who persist in idol worship while refusing to repent should not expect God's approval, because He is holy and desires wholehearted devotion.
God is a merciful God and he is always ready to forgive us when we come to him with a sincere heart of prayer. No one is beyond God's reach if they humble themselves and call on Him with a genuine heart. God's desire is not to leave idol worshippers in darkness, but to lead them to the knowledge of the truth and into a restored relationship with Him.
