Submit to one another in the fear of God.
Ephesians 5:21 New King James Version (RVR1960)
The word submit is not pleasant to any person, as this means: to hold, surrender, subjugate.
In the secular there are people who love having others subject to their orders, going as far as abuse. But, that is not the submission of which God speaks to us, it refers to the one that goes according to the fear that we must have for him, and we must demonstrate it in the relationships that we have with other people.
This submission is not based on abuse, but on respect, justice and love. One of the examples that the apostle Paul gives us is marriage, how they should be treated and he advises man:
It clarifies for them how Christ does with the church since he is the head of the church and the husband is the head of the wife.
He says to the woman that she should be subject to her husband in everything, as the church is subject to Christ and they respect him.
