Me invitó a almorzar.

Hello friends from Silver Bloggers Community,

I was reflecting a bit while writing about this beautiful day I had with a friend, and I decided to share this story with you, who also have some gray hairs.

I woke up early on Saturday with the idea of getting a haircut, it had grown a bit and I like to keep it short for convenience and because I feel less hot when summer starts.

Looking at myself in the mirror, I see my silver hair and think about how much time has passed since those first gray hairs appeared, I wouldn't know the exact time, but it was a long time ago, that's when changes in my skin and body in general also happened.

My husband told me, a few days ago, that I looked shorter over the years, instead of growing, we tend to shrink a bit.

I keep my posture upright, maybe because of the exercises I do every day. My hands are already bony and even, my fingers have been deforming due to arthritis or work, who knows. It scares me to see my veins so pronounced, I think it's hereditary, my mother also has them like that. I console myself when I think that I have lived seven decades and I intend to live until I reach ten.

Going back to my gray hair, close to turning fifty, I decided not to dye my hair anymore to hide my gray hairs and little by little the dye disappeared, and I realized that my head also looked very good. We women pretend to be young despite the years, but each age has its charm. Just have to want to be young at heart.

So it was time to go to the hairdresser and cut my hair. I say hairdresser, but it's actually my friend Daimara. We agreed to meet in the park, do some shopping for both of our homes, and then I would go with her for her to "work her magic."

We sat for a while in the park and talked about our families, as besides being my friend for many years, she is also my confidante from time to time, and I am hers. As a curious thing, I tell you that she is a General Practitioner Doctor, but she likes hairdressing, and every time she sees a new hair cut in magazines and online, she practices it on my head. I am risking losing my hair and my cared gray hairs, one day.

We women like compliments, and I show off my silver gray hairs. I only use shampoo, conditioner, and a toner that gives me that silver gray tone.

This time I had planned to get a different kind of haircut, shorter at the back, but with more volume to look nice when styled, suggesting I use a brush after drying it. Her husband is the one who always gives the final approval of how it turned out.

She invited me to lunch. I was actually looking forward to it because this time my husband wasn't home, he went fishing with his nephews for the whole weekend, and I take the opportunity to break the routine. The lunch was very tasty, she cooks very well and had bean stew that I hadn't eaten in a long time. It was a very pleasant and comforting Saturday.

I always feel very good when I'm with her and her husband, it's like being in my own home. Our friendship is a source of joy for me, and every time this hairdressing session comes around, I enjoy it so much that I feel rejuvenated. Plus, they are such good hosts, and laughter and good company are always there. Like I said: you can always be young at heart.
