Hello steemians!
Here's a little bit of fun from my day-to-day, with a moral that hopefully can apply to you as well.
A few days ago, my fiancé went to a minor league baseball game with her brother after being given free tickets through her school. While they were there, they were given another set of free tickets for a game last night, which of course her and I decided to go to since it happened to be one of my days off work.
The game had only just begun when we hear an "excuse me" from over our shoulder. We turn around and one of the stadium staff was there. She greeted us kindly and asked us if we would be interested in playing a game on the field, to which my fiancé enthusiastically agreed. We signed the waivers and were escorted through the underbelly of the stadium, down to the edge of the field where we got to watch the next inning and a half behind home plate (including a monster of a home-run, one that wasn't even close to being in the park.)
After a while, they escorted us onto the field, we competed against another couple in a silly game and ended up winning a pair of tickets to a country music concert the following weekend.
The moral of this story, at least for me, is when you're presented with an opportunity to experience something that you might never get to do again, take it. You never know where you're going to end up at the end of the ride. Fear of the unknown is one of the greatest limiters of spontaneity and free living that exists. Life is short, be goofy and spontaneous, and when someone asks you to put on diving flippers and run a race, you damn well do it.
Do you have any stories of crazy opportunities that you have been able to experience? I'd love to hear them in the comments. I'll see you guys tomorrow for Incorruptible - Chapter 1 - Part 2!
Until then, Mako
