The ashok stupa in picture is the third one that I have posted. previously posted ashok stupas were situates at southern and northern side of Lalitpur district, Nepal. This one is situated at eastern side. The name ashok is given after the king Ashok from India who also had built ashok pillar at Lumbini, Nepal highlighting Lumbini as the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha. These stupas signify peace which is also the slogan of lord Buddha.
