Tajuddin Ahmed was born in 1925 in Gazipur district. He was elected a member of East Pakistan Provincial Assembly in 1954.
When the independent Bangladesh government was formed in Mujibnagar in 1971, he became the Chief Minister of that government.
He took the responsibility of the first Prime Minister of Independent Bangladesh.
On November 3, 1975, he was brutally killed in the Dhaka Central Jail......
