Every time I leave my house either alone or with one of my girls, strangers do or say strange things. So I have decided to cash in and share these rather peculiar experiences. If there ever was a theme song and this was a TV show I'd choose the appropriately titled The Doors song, 'People are Strange'

So here is, The Crosswalk Granny:

(This isn't her, just an image from Google Search that is similar to her)

An old lady at the crosswalk notices that I have Miss F in a stroller and that I am standing back from the curb. She then tells me about an incident that happened recently regarding another mother with a kid in stroller: A mother had her kid seated in the stroller in the gutter while the traffic was passing waiting for the lights to change. A bus is coming along and stops in the middle of the road holding up traffic refusing to move forward until the lady and the stroller get. back up on to the curb.

She is still talking to me as we cross the road she continues to tell me about how parents in other countries are pushing their kids into traffic because of various difficulties (financial, social, mental etc.) of child responsibilities.
