I am often out in the mall doing grocery shopping and general errands for my family so occasionally I stop at the mall's Food Court for lunch. Other than the usual SaS (Strangers are Strange) stuff I regularly observe other people and what they do. One thing that surprises me every time is the older generation in these places. Most people would think that it is the younger ones particularly in the 20's to early 30's age range that do this but it isn't, it's the older ones, the generation of 70+ that often are the culprits.

The incident in question: leaving their trashy leftover food containers, rubbish and crumbs on the tables they have used. They make no effort to clean up after themselves when their are plenty of facilities around for disposal. There are also plenty of staff sweeping around maintaining the place and one time one of them spoke to me briefly stating that she was surprised by an elderly couple who just did this.

So as for me, every time I go there I always clean my mess up and thank the passing by maintenance person for sweeping as I am leaving. They deal with every one else's crap literally and get ignored.
