The Ukrainian artist Oleg Shuplyak is the author of a surprising work of painting naturalistic paintings containing, when we pay more attention, incredible portraits appearing in the form of optical illusions.
Inspired by the Surrealist movement, psychoanalysis or the ideas defended by the naturalist Charles Darwin, the Ukrainian artist Oleg Shuplyak paints curious paintings all with a reading on several levels. Because if at first, the paintings of this painter seem to contain nothing more than pretty drawings executed in oil painting, just take a step back to see faces emerge as if by magic on the canvas thanks to a optical illusion staged by the artist. FacebookPinterest Share on Facebook Take a look, for example, at this painting where a shepherd is resting for a moment against a tree trunk in the company of his sheep. Nothing apparently seems to distinguish it from another painting of the same kind. But focus now a little better on the drape of the young man's clothes and on the two houses in the distance and you will see then appear as if by magic: an old man's face! The houses and the garment creating respectively the eyes and the mustache of this one! Remarkable in their composition, Oleg Shuplyak's paintings are astonishing works all containing a striking optical illusion.
